At Sea

Today we have a "sea day", a day to relax on board and I'm very pleased to report that I'm feeling more human again. We attended a very interesting talk given by Captain Tim Orchard, a Concord pilot describing a ride from London to New York. He jointly holds the record of this journey from NY to London in 2hrs 52 mins.  For those who might be interested to read very interesting articles about Capt. Tim Orchard, you can find them here and here.

There was time today to deal with some business issues (yes even on our cruise) so Dave attended to queries at our shop and Les spent a few moments catching up with her cottage bookings!

And while on the subject, just as an aside, please take a look here at Ama Casa Self catering cottages, a little piece of heaven in the Drakensberg, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa.

We've done a load of washing and are now preparing for another formal dinner and meeting the captain for cocktails.

      Aren't we just so smart?

The String Quartet who played most evenings

And much later in the Golden Lion Pub where Vic played and sang popular songs where all could join in if they wished!  Most nights there was a quiz for those that wanted to take part.  Here is a short video of the entertainment in the Pub.

There was always plenty to do and see on board ship and the Lido restaurant was open 24 hours a day with food, icecream and all sorts of hot drinks to which you could help yourself.

Every evening after dinner we went down to the Royal Court Theatre to watch the show.  Cunard have their own troupe of singers and dancers as well as performers and entertainers who were brought on board to do a particular show of their jandre.

So off to bed in the early hours, for some!  Tomorrow we will be in Katakolon.
