Sea Day

Wow did we need this sea day!  We've been able to relax all day and take it easy lazing around the pool deck.

Sunrise at sea

We awoke to this beautiful sunrise on this most welcome day at sea.  We enjoy "sea days" as we can then enjoy the amenities on board ship.

This morning we enjoyed the second talk by Captain Tim Orchard.  His subject was, "What actually happened in that French Concord accident".  Hmmm!

The Gym

The Royal Spa and Fitness Centre on board the Queen Elizabeth is located at the front of the ship with a magnificient view of the sea.  The equipment is kept in excellent condition by the Spa team.

Britannia Restaurant
This restaurant is open virtually 24 hours a day and can accommodate 878 guests on two levels.  There is open seating for breakfast and lunch and if guests prefer not to partake of formal or informal dinner in the Diningroom, they can enjoy dinner here as well.  Dave made full use of the soft-serve ice cream and there is a selection of hot drinks and juices throughout the day and night.

Every afternoon at 3.30pm in the Queens Room "high tea" is served where we enjoyed tea specially blended for Curnard with cucumber sandwiches followed by a selection of small cakes and scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream.  Really delicious.  Here is a video that I took in the Queen's Room on this the second sea day.

Lesley also videoed the first sea day with the tea stewards entering with trays laden with scrumptious tea goodies accompanied by the String Quartet.

Table with a vase of Lilies in the Queens Room
There are many of these vases of lilies all over the ship and one can smell their perfume wherever you walk.

After dinner we watched a beautiful show in the Royal Court Theatre, SHOWTIME: PALLADIUM NIGHTS presented by the Royal Cunard Singers and Dancers.  What a spectacular show!

Tomorrow we are in Messina, Sicily.
